On Friday May 17th, Dave Carley hosted the grade 5/6 and 7/8 classes at his business, Sunset Neon. It was an educational morning where students learned about the history of signs, safety in the workplace, shipping and receiving, painting/finishing, fabrication and assembly, plastic forming and gluing, neon, and CAD (computer assisted drawing) operated machinery. Students also had an opportunity to work with vinyl to create personalized name plates! Sunset Neon has created many familiar signs such as Dairy Queen, The Body Shop, Longos, and Legoland (which was great preparation for the 5/6 trip to Legoland the following Friday). Following the tour, we enjoyed a BBQ lunch which Sunset Neon so graciously provided! Thanks for a great trip Sunset Neon!
