Scientific Poetry!

Cross-curricular learning is an exceptional trend in breaking down walls between traditional topics of instruction.

The grade 7 students had a chance to read and create poems inspired by what they are learning in science.

Students were challenged to deeply understand scientific concepts in order to apply them as metaphors, similes (or any literary device) or just convey them in verse.

Students enjoyed writing their poems and engaged in very productive conversations about the topics covered in science as well as our poetry unit.
