Today the Junior and Senior Kindergarten classes participated in the “Grow a Seed” program where they grew their very own, 100% organic, Microgreens! We learned that, just like the largest animals in the world, we need to eat lots of “plants” in order to get big and strong. We also learned that Microgreens have 39x more nutrients than regularly grown plants and vegetables. We were able to demonstrate our knowledge of what plants need, and the parts of a plant by getting our hands dirty breaking up our “core” made from coconut, and preparing the bed for our baby seeds. We planted Broccoli, Oriental Mustard, Speckled Peas and Daikon Radish! We can’t wait to harvest them in 8-12 days!
