During the month of May, Glenn Arbour Academy students were busy taking part in many sporting events through the Small Schools Athletic Federation (SSAF).
On May 9th, grades 5-8 participated in the Elementary Track and Field day. This event had between 800 to 1000 participants in one of the largest SSAF events to date. Our students did an amazing job winning a 2nd and 3rd place medal by Michael and Ciara, and we had many students win their track heats.
On May 22nd, the elementary girls soccer team and the under 12 Coed soccer team participated in tournaments in Aurora and Markham. Both teams played well and exhibited excellent sportsmanship!
On May 29th, the elementary grades took part in the Coed softball tournament winning three of their games. All players showed great teamwork and played well.
The school’s final sporting event took place on June 1st where grades 1-4 travelled to York University to participate in a track and field event. Although the rain eventually forced the event to be cancelled, Glenn Arbour Academy was able to take home two second place medals by Hanna and Mya. We also had and many top five finishes. A special thank you to all the parent volunteers who attended these events!
Way to go Highlanders!!!
