Today, at the Rotary Burlington Music Festival, our Highlander Choir placed first in their choral competition. The grade eight girls started with an acapella version of Siyahamba and were then joined by the rest of the choir. It should be noted that the grade eight girls arranged the harmony and harmonic rhythm specifically for the competition. Our second selection was a crowd pleaser – Ed Lojeski’s Les Miserables Medley. It featured solos, duets, small ensemble and of course the full choir. The adjudicator commented on our many soloists’ perfect pitch and clarity. However, she also gave special recognition to soloists Paige, Addie and Nicole for their contribution. Congratulations choir on your amazing performance today – we are very proud of you!
