Fish biologist Chris Robinson from the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters shared a very informative presentation about the Atlantic Salmon to the students in grades three to six. Chris’ passion for the “Bring Back the Salmon” program certainly sparked the interest in the students. The children learned about the origins and the current work being done to restore this once plentiful resource back to Lake Ontario. Chris emphasized the concept of good stewardship and expressed his gratitude that students are able to participate in this important program. We are looking forward to the release date of our salmon and working alongside Chris and other biologists and environmentalists. The students have been very excited throughout the program as they are learning and participating in a truly “hands-on” scientific endeavor.
