Some of you may have seen the commercial that uses the familiar Christmas song, It’s the Most, Wonderful Time of the Year to launch their “Back to School” campaign. It certainly is a wonderful time. The teachers are excited as they prepare classrooms and look forward to implementing new ideas learned from workshops and training received during the summer. But most importantly, the teachers are excited to see their students – old and new!
Glenn Arbour kicked off the “back to school” season with the annual Lemonade Party. Students and parents were excited to see their new classrooms and brought in their school supplies for the year. It was great to see the children re-aquaint with their friends and teachers. It was also exciting to see the new students and their families! After a visit with their new teachers and classrooms, the students and their families had an opportunity to have lemonade and treats in our library.
Our first day of school is on Wednesday, September 5. The bell will ring at 8:40 AM at which time everyone (including parents) will congregate in the gymnasium and at 8:50, the school year will officially begin with the singing of “O Canada” followed by an address by Mrs. MacKinnon. After the opening exercises, the students will wave goodbye to their parents as they head into their classrooms with their teachers.
Rotary classes will begin on Thursday, September 6.
See you soon!
